Overview: The renovation of old wood historic buildings is always a floor and acoustical challenge.
The client wanted to keep the original beams and openness of the original historic structure. The open wood beams were sand blasted to bring back the natural color and the brick work was stripped and redone. The original wood floor was very unlevel from 0-3" deviations.
The architect specified Acousti-Mat® II and Gyp-Crete® 2000 for their project to meet sound and fire requirements. The Gyp-Crete® 2000 created a flat, smooth surface for floor goods.
